Father Junipero’s Carmel Basilica
Carmel Mission is considered the most beautiful of the nine missions founded by Father Junipero Serro during the 18th century. Today Carmel Basilica is an active parish Church. Visitors can attend Catholic services here, tour the grounds and the Basilica and explore a variety of fascinating exhibits.
The historic Carmel Mission presents historic exhibits in rooms and galleries in a variety of structures. The Basilica contains many of its original paintings, sculptures and other furnishings.
