This is a story specifically about piano lamps, but I have to give you the background first. I can remember the story very well. My mom and dad would always tell me right from wrong. I was like most kids and it would go in one ear and out the other. All children know when we are young that we knew more than our parents. I would get advice on looking both ways as I would cross into traffic. I was told to slow down as I was riding my skateboard. My favorite was making sure I was not reading in low light. I was told that I would go blind. It did not happen to me but I know they were trying to do their best to protect me. I now use some of their old advice on my own children and yes my kids will roll their eyes just like I did. It is tough getting older, it has gotten harder to see in low light situations. Using proper lighting helps ease eye strain and makes it easier to see smaller print.

I have been playing piano most of my life. As an adult it is my passion. I have been able to play several local shows a year. As I have become older I have noticed that in certain low light situations it has become tougher to see the music in front of me. Smaller print has been the toughest. It very quickly caused fatigue and eye strain. I easily get tired and playing music was not as fun as it used to be. Reading in the best light is important. I have read that reading in low light will not alter your vision but I have noticed that it makes it harder to focus. Over time it can harm the eyes and affect someone’s eyesight. Investing in a piano lamp was the best decision I made for my musical career.

My wife gave me a great present for my 45th birthday, it was a piano light . I loved the light and quickly purchased a second piano lamp to take on the road with me. I noticed that it helped my eyesight right away. I was able to aim the light right where I wanted it. It made much easier to see and I notice that it helped eliminate the eye strain that I would easily get in a low light situation. I felt young again and I could play non stop. I got excited playing again. I felt like the piano lamp helped me fight off father time a little longer. This was a good thing. On the website I found that they were several different styles and choices of piano lights to choose from. Each venue I played in was a little different. The piano lamp would give as much or as little of light that I would need. It helped me see better in every venue.

Having proper lighting is nothing new but I will tell any my musician peers that are my age that we can fight off old tired eyes with piano lamps. It will definitely help anyone see better and hopefully it will help any musician play better too!

Author Chuck Stewart loves both his music and his piano lamps. He operates a top ranking web site for piano lamps during the daylight hours.
