When you find an online course or software that helps you to effectively speak Spanish, how long will your practice? Will you practice daily? Will you practice weekly? If you are trying to be fluent, then it is important that you practice an hour or two a day, until it becomes second nature. If you are only striving to be functional (vacation, meeting w/ translator, etc.) then you may only have to practice once or twice a week. Whatever your goal is, you will want to stick by that goal consistently.

Learn spoken conversational Spanish first. Just as you learned English by starting with a few words and phrases and expanding from there, learn Spanish the same way. Try to understand and to express your thoughts. Go from thoughts directly to words and back. Don’t let yourself get bogged down in grammar and rules; concentrate on HOW you say something, not why.
