Purchasing a Vacuum

Types of the vacuum

There are upright vacuums and canister vacuums available in the market. If your vacuuming is mostly on one level, upright is good. If you have some physical constraints in lifting and bending, then they can be of help. But canister vacuums will give you more freedom when it comes to handling the tighter spots. For example, if you want to clean an entire staircase, then canister vacuums are ideal, since upright vacuums have certain limits. Besides, it becomes a verticle vacuum on a staircase.

Vacuum with or with no bag?
There are several upright vacuums which come without a bag. This can be a good option since it will save money on purchasing of bags. If some important small items are accidentally picked up by the vacuum, they can be easily retrieved in a bag-less machine. But if you decide on a vacuum with a bag, then buy a few of bags for the future too.

The upright vacuums cover a big area for cleaning as compared to a floor attachment or a power nozzle. The vacuum should have an indicator which advises you when the dust bag is full. The warranty given by the manufacturer must also be checked. These components can considerably influence your decision while purchasing a vacuum.
